Notes on the Virgo Full Moon, March 1, 2018

The Moon enters Virgo at 1 a.m. Thursday, March 1, and will be at 11°, 22 min. when She reaches Her apogee of fullness at 6:51 p.m. CST. The Master Numbers in the degree and minute-mark of this Virgo Moon placement signify a high-energy vibrational level for all of us, energy best applied towards the Virgo themes of Healing and Service. If you’re a Virgo Sun, Ascendant, or Moon person within a 5° orb of this 11° mark, you’re really going to feel the energies amplified.

The Virgo-Pisces Axis of Healing

We have a lot of wonderful, supportive energy accompanying this lunar transit, ones involving Venus and Mercury in Pisces and Their respective sextiles to Pluto in Capricorn and Their trine to Jupiter in Scorpio, occurring almost in tandem because They are transiting Pisces so closely together. This is the synthesis of head and heart, encapsulating the Healing afforded by both Pisces and Virgo as the two Healers of the Zodiac: Pisces affords mystical transmutation and energetic body healing while Virgo heals at the physical and mental levels (aside from the digestive tract, Virgo is the traditional “ruler” of the body’s central nervous system). Creativity, poetic consciousness, heart-centered truth telling, and grounding and stability are gifts of these aspects.

Cosmic Support for Suppressed Wounds That May Surface

At the time of the Full Moon, Venus will also be within a 4° conjunction with the asteroid Chiron, the “Wounded Healer,” bringing to the surface any karmic or past wounds we may be carrying from relationships or financial debacles, scarcity/poverty consciousness, etc. It’s helpful to know where Chiron is in your natal chart to see the exact “theme” of wounding that may be coming up for you to consciously review at this time.

Whatever surfaces, Virgo’s healing regimen emphasizes purging and purification: detoxing, “cleanse” diets, physical exercise routines are all being given the green light. (Of course, be on board with your medical provider’s recommendations for your unique health situation and fitness levels.)

More support is coming from a Grand Earth Trine, really adding material concerns and emotional grounding and support to the forefront of our collective consciousness. The asteroid Pallas Athena in Taurus and the Virgo Moon and Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn are all forming a harmonious Trine. What can you do to nourish yourself? What pragmatic steps can you take to help actualize long-term goals? Break things down into digestible components, which is EXACTLY what Virgo energy is suited for: separating the relevant from the useless, and discarding the latter post-haste.

Looming Sun-Neptune Conjunction in Pisces

Pisces’ ruling planet of Neptune will be at 13° at the Full Moon, getting ready to form an exact conjunction with the Pisces Sun on March 4. We’re encouraged to surrender ourselves to the tidal flow of All That Is, dissolving ego boundaries in the process. We could be pulled towards low energy levels, feeling drained and listless, however, so be sure to give your body extra rest. The Mars in Sagittarius square to Mercury, Virgo’s ruler, in Pisces can also make us feel drained. By all means, avoid getting into emotionally draining arguments. The lens of Virgo scrutiny asks us to be consciously aware of EVERYTHING we’re doing and WITH WHOM. Wisdom is rooted in the body, as Virgo, like all Earth Signs, is extremely physical, not just mentally analytical. Check in with your body frequently to see what you need to do to optimize your well-being. Manage your energy wisely; strive for purity. These are the Virgo Full Moon’s lessons.
