The Fall Equinox is almost upon us and tomorrow will also the biggest day of my public Priestessing schedule in the year, as the Chicago Fellowship of Isis community presents its 25th Anniversary Goddess Convention. The day-long event, featuring a Tibetan Singing Bowl Sound Healing Concert and workshops on every subject from Contemporary Western Tantra to accessing the Akashic Records to the Astrology of Fixed Stars and my own presentation on the ancient Egyptian Goddess Selqet, will culminate in the late Lady Olivia Robertson’s gorgeously composed Divine Liturgy of “The Mystical Awakening of Scorpio and Kundalini.” As a devotee of the Goddess Selqet, it thrills me to no end to have the honor of my ecclesiastical role in the Liturgy be that of Her Priestess. When I recite the invocation, I get goose bumps every time. That’s the sign of heka at work, friends! And yes, I’m going to bring with me from my home temple space my giant, four-foot-tall replica statue of the Goddess.

I’m not just going to be a workshop presenter during the day and one of the officiating clergy for the Divine Liturgy in the evening; I’m also going to be a vendor, selling my Polytheist devotional jewelry pieces from my business, Jackal Moon Designs. I’ve had a spate of creativity in the past week and have made a bunch of new pieces that I’m selling online. Some of them have Eastern religious motifs of ties to Hinduism and Buddhism; others are Kemetic. Our Divine Liturgy this year honors Deities from India and Egypt.

Just Listed on My Etsy Shop: Sterling Silver Athena Devotional Necklace

The stirring opening lines of the “Homeric Hymn to Athena” evoke the Goddess so beautifully:

“I begin to sing of Pallas Athena, the glorious goddess,

bright-eyed, inventive, unbending of heart,

pure virgin, saviour of cities,

courageous,

Tritogeneia.”

My devotional jewelry tribute to Athena, available for sale on JackalMoonDesigns, features a stunning sterling silver replica of an ancient Greek drachma as the pendant, depicting Athena in profile on the front and Her totem symbol of the owl on the back. (The coin pendant was something I bought directly in Greece while perusing the wares in a Thessaloniki market in 1998!)

New Celtic and Kemetic Devotional Jewelry Listings on My Etsy Site, JackalMoonDesigns

After the stress of my husband and I getting our taxes done today (I can’t believe we put it off for so long), I decided to relax by making no less than 5 hand-beaded devotional necklaces and 1 set of prayer beads and uploading them for sale onto my Etsy site, JackalMoonDesigns. (You know you’re a Virgo when your idea of relaxing entails…working!) My energies were divided between fervent devotions to the ancient Goddesses of the Emerald Isle and the Gods and Goddesses of Kemet.  Continue reading

Mokosh Devotional Necklace Added to My JackalMoonDesigns Etsy Shop!

BY WAY OF AN UPDATE: THE PIECE SOLD WITHIN MINUTES OF THIS LISTING! MY THANKS TO THE BUYER!

Just listed on my Etsy shop! This genuine Baltic amber beaded necklace pays homage to the Slavic Earth and Mother Goddess, Mokoš or Mokoša (Mokosh, Mokosha), Whose epithet of Mat Zemlija usually translates as “Moist Mother Earth” (from the pan-Slavic mokra, “wet”). She is a Weaver Goddess and thus is often said to be in the company of if not one of the Roženitse (Rozhenitse) Herself, the Goddesses of Destiny (still placated to this day in Southern and Northeastern Europe with elaborate customs involving home births). Oaths were and are sworn to Her through the act of ritually kissing the ground, making one’s word binding. Her massive gilded “idol” was the only representation of a female Deity from the Slavic Pantheon adorning the great outdoor temple of Kiev as established by Prince Vladimir the Great, who ruled the Kievan Rus from 908-1015 CE (Common Era).

Sekhmet, Odin, and Frigga Necklaces Now Available in my JackalMoonDesigns Etsy Shop

As the holiday shopping season gets underway in full force here in the States, I’d like to encourage people to please support small businesses and artisans, especially in esoteric/metaphysical communities. I’ve had my Etsy shop, Jackal Moon Designs, active for exactly half a year now and I love creating pieces that help support Polytheists, Pagans, Magicians, and Shamanic Practitioners in strengthening their connections to their Holy Powers.

I’ve recently ordered a slew of pendants depicting various Deities and Spirits and will be uploading new beaded gemstones pieces on a regular basis. I’m announcing three that are new to my shop as of yesterday and this morning, reflecting the work of my crafty little hands over the weekend. They’re long, texturally rich pieces and one is made to honor Sekhmet, one to honor Frigga (depicted in the featured image for this post), and one to honor Odin. I accept a variety of payments on my Etsy site and ship worldwide. My pieces make great one-of-a-kind gifts or you can keep them for yourself! (Do note that I take requests for custom pieces if you don’t see the Holy Power you serve represented in my shop!)
